Thursday Evening Race 18:45
The light is fading fast, to help extend the racing we have moved the start time for the 1st race on Thursday bay to 18:45. Due to the shortness of time racing will start promptly and races will be approximately 30 Mins. The second race is a different series so its still worth getting on the water.
Barts Bash 21st Sept 2014
Barts Bash – Sunday 21st September 2014
We have registered to take part in Barts Bash, the largest sailing event in the world www.bartsbash.co.uk . We will be racing against 570 clubs in 50 different countries and against Yachts, dinghies and windsurfers.
Our club is registered on Barts Bash site (see link in side bar of website) and you can now sign up to race on the day. If you do race on the day, you will be racing against Ben Ainslie in a Finn, Iain Percy in a Star, Paul Goodison in a Moth, Jimmy Spithill in a Melges E-Scow and Loick Peyron in his Trimaran.
By entering the race now, our club will get an idea as to the number of people who intend to race on the day and it will also give us a good representation on the website.
The event is a fundraiser for the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation, www.andrewsimpsonsailing.org.uk and they are asking for a £5 donation from each person over the age of 14 who intends to sail. Once you have signed up, you can create a just giving page which can then be used to spread the word and get people to sponsor you.
