WHAT'S ON - WATER & CLUB
Not wanting to jinx anything, but it is quietly looking like shorts & T-shirt weather this Friday & Saturday, which is rather marvellous because this Friday 21st June is the summer solstice which positively demands drinks on the terrace (post sailing for some, obviously) as we watch the sun go down on the longest day of the year - there even are whispers that there may be some sizzling sausages to accompany the sundowners - keep your eyes open for the WhatsApp message ....
Saturday 22nd is looking equally as sunny (and pretty windless too) for our annual summer picnic by kayak, SUP or boat over at Hengistbury Head. Plan is to meet at the club at 13:00, ready to set off at 13:30 - bring your hampers, bubbles and make your way to Hengistbury Head. If you don't have a means of transport, you can always hire a club pico and paddle over.....
Then Sunday 23rd racing is Sea Interclub races 5 & 6 at 14:00
Wed 26th Jun 19:00 Harbour evening series # 5 18:36 -
Thurs 27th Jun 19:00 Sea Evening Spring # 9 &10 19:13
Thurs 27th Jun 19:00 Thursday evening club # 4 19:13 - 1.5
Fri 28th Jun 18:00 Ladies that Launch Social Sail 19:46 - 1.6 - no instructors present, just fun, social sailing (any questions firstname.lastname@example.org)
KAYAKERS & PADDLEBOARDERS
If you are a paddleboarder or a kayaker looking for a good time to come down to the club and get out on the water, you are always welcome to go out with the Wednesday morning social sailors, the Thursday evening club sailors and the Ladies That Launch. It is a 'more the merrier' approach at HSC and everyone is welcome. If you would like to join The Paddlers WhatsApp group, please contact email@example.com.
RS AERO DEMO DAY
Big thanks to everyone who came down to try out the Aeros last Friday. After a blown out Thursday, we were lucky enough to have a lovely Friday evening for the LTL and the test drives. RS Sailing were pretty positive about the feedback they got and it seems that everyone who came along got to try at least one of the rigs. Don't forget RS are offering discounts for multiple orders, so if any one is thinking of purchasing a boat, don't forget to see if anyone else from HSC is putting in an order.
Well, what a fantastic take up we have had for the dinner dance, we now have over 50 members signed up. Thanks to everyone for your enthusiasm. Also, after discussion with the Lord Bute last week, they have kindly offered to extend the sign up deadline until the end of June, just in case anyone missed out. If we get enough party goers we may be able to have the room to ourselves, so if you were hesitating, you still have a couple of weeks to get your names down on the list. If you would like to come, please let firstname.lastname@example.org know and pay BACS as usual. Tickets are £35 per head.
